Former Pilot Justin D’Amato Named Preseason All-American For Second Time

Pitching standout Justin D’Amato of the St. John Fisher College baseball team has been named as a Preseason First-Team All-American by d3baseball.com for the second consecutive season, as announced on Monday.

D’Amato, a two-time All-American selection by both ACBA/Rawlings and d3baseball.com, led Fisher to an ECAC Championship after posting a 7-2 record to go along with a 1.48 earned run average.  The Canandaigua native tallied 70 strikeouts in 68 innings en route to also being named to both d3baseball.com’s and ABCA/Rawlings’ First Team All-Region.

With his senior season quickly approaching, D’Amato, a two-time Pitcher of the Year in the Empire 8, has already cemented himself as one of the best pitchers to ever wear a Cardinal uniform.  He ranks first all-time in strikeouts with 250, first in wins with 27, second in innings pitched with 213.0 and third in career earned run average, allowing 2.28 runs per outing.

D’Amato and the rest of the St. John Fisher College baseball team will kick-off the 2014 campaign on February 22nd against Albright College in Flemington, N.J.
