Newark, NY — The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League is pleased to announce that Jayson Yano (Stevens) of the Newark Pilots has been selected as the 2014 PGCBL Pitcher of the Year.

Yano, a rising junior at Stevens, led the league with six wins while posting an ERA of 1.35, which was second best among qualified pitchers. Opponents hit just .221 off the right-hander, tied for third best in the league. He led the league with five complete games. Yano struck out 41 batters in 53.1 innings, good for fifth (tied) and third best in the league. Yano was exceptional at getting ground balls. His fly ball to ground ball ratio was 0.4 and he allowed just one home run all season. Yano issued just five walks and his K/BB ratio was 8.2.
