The Jammers are currently ranked 9th in the National Summer Collegiate Baseball Rankings and validated their ranking tonight as the Jammers defeat the Newark Pilots 9-3 and improve to 12-4 on the season (1st in West Division).
Jammers took an early lead and never gave it up. In the bottom of the 1st the Jammers offense got things started as they scored 2 runs on 2 hits including an RBI single by Chris Estrada (UTSA).
The 2nd inning was more of the same, the Jammers continued its offensive output by adding 2 more runs with the lone hit by Christ Conley (Canisius) that drove in the 1st run. Ben Brookover (UTSA) drove in the 2nd run of the inning with a sacrifice fly. After 2 complete innings, the Jammers lead 4-0 over the Pilots.
The Pilots answered back in the top of the 3rd as they scored 3 runs on 2 hits (3 walks) and making it a 1 run game. The score would stay 4-3 until the bottom of the 6th as the Jammers put the game out of reach by plating 5 runs on 4 hits, with a huge RBI double by Ben Brookover (UTSA).
After the Jammers big inning made it 9-3, that would end up being the final score as the Jammers are now 12-4 on the season (4-0 against the Newark Pilots).
