500 students from the Newark Kelley School 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade classes, and staff, attended a midday game on Thursday, June 13. Students and staff enjoyed a ball park meal, along with on field entertainment, visits from the Ace the Mascot, and interaction with Pilots players.
The weather was hot and so was the pitching. With temperatures over 80 degrees, the Pilots picked up their third win on the season thanks to a fantastic effort by their pitching starter, Aiden Cardoza (Wheaton College MA.).
Aiden went seven strong innings, picking up four strikeouts in the first matchup against the Geneva Red Wings. Offensively the ‘Lots were helped out by Bryce Knox and Shaun McMillan with two hits and two RBI’s each.
They bested Geneva 6-1 and are now 3-7-0 for the season. The Lots look to continue their winning ways on Friday, June 14th when they take on the Niagara Falls Americans (2-5-0) at 6:35 p.m in Niagara .
